Successful Supplemental Essay Example From Our Accepted Alumni Student:
Through building friendships and self-confidence, grappling with international issues, guiding fundraising initiatives, and more, I’ve learned that leadership is based upon embracing diverse perspectives.
At Syracuse, I can continue uniting with others who embrace difference—and challenge the status quo.
With lessons from mentoring peers with diverse challenges, I’m determined to increase opportunities for all. Whitman’s socially-conscious leadership would allow me to channel business toward essential change. I’d love to explore ways to unite arts, social channels, and more to drive socially-impactful business with Marketing Research. Through the Multicultural Empowerment Network, I’d love to assist initiatives supporting entrepreneurship for local youth, creating opportunities for future change-makers.
As a passionate leader in debate and MUN, I’m especially drawn to Syracuse’s emphasis on cross-cultural perspectives and addressing global challenges. In diversity-focused Whitman courses like Management and Ethics, I look forward to discussing leadership and unity across difference. I would also bring my passion for grappling with global issues to Syracuse Debate and the International Business Association. I’m interested in promoting microfinance abroad, support for local businesses, and more.
Above all, I’m excited to join Syracuse’s diverse, collaborative, and mission-driven community. Through teamwork with peers, I’d love to creatively problem-solve in the Blackstone LaunchPad and Couri Hatchery. From outstanding mentors like Dr. Maria Minnit, I’d love to learn insights into socially-conscious innovation, addressing inequities, and international development. With TAMID, I can even assist socially-impactful NPOs and initiatives in local communities.
With the Syracuse community, I can continue uplifting diverse perspectives—and work toward essential change.
